Lay Thai Restaurant & Lounge in Dusseldorf

I have to honestly admit that I was skeptical of the many positive reviews, but after visiting this restaurant I can say that they are absolutely justified. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, the food tastes very good, the cocktails were good too, the service was friendly and quick. Highly recommended for friends of Thai cuisine.

The table reservation via Google was already the first plus point, a short-term increase in the number of people was not a challenge for the friendly and attentive team. Just perfect! Super nice and courteous service, authentic taste and mega ambience. We felt like we were on vacation. Because it tastes so authentic, it is a bit hotter than usual than it is in European cuisine - we think that's great too. Even special requests were gladly dealt with. Easy to rate: fantastic! A very nice and stylish restaurant away from the hustle and bustle of Düsseldorf. We felt very comfortable and in good hands right from the start and were served in a very friendly and courteous manner. The food was perfect from the starter and the main course to the dessert - we were happy, satisfied and, above all, full of the restaurant and are VERY sure: we will be back, we love to drive them 120km ?

Today enjoyed the extraordinary hospitality of the "new" owners for the second time. The food was fantastic again. Very tasty cuisine for every palate. From not spicy to "burning like hell", the guest is brought what he wants. Also individually designed. The service is unobtrusive but always present and attentive. The menu is absolutely recommended from the starter to the dessert. The small but fine selection of cocktails is also mixed absolutely delicious. Far above normal restaurant level. All in all: it's worth it! ?

On a whim, we dined here last week and we were not disappointed! Without a doubt the BEST service I have experienced in Germany. Warmly greeted and seated swiftly. Super comfortable seating; fantastic mood lighting; nice spacing between patrons ensuring either a cosy private (or romantic) dinner for 2 or ample space for a group without encroaching on other diners. Beautifully set tables eagerly tended to. Once you have ordered through the easy to read menu, in English and German, sit back and relax - everything else will be taken care of. From topping up your glass of wine, to clean cutlery with each course, the serving you rice, these guys did not miss a beat. The food was lovely but it's not the best Thai we've had. I'll give 4 ? here - nicely presented but the flavours could have been elevated with a little more spice. We could not taste the difference in heat from one dish to another. The fish cakes were ok, but we were wondering why they were coated in panko breadcrumbs? The dipping sauces needed more punch to them too. But, hey, for an all round experience, I have to give 5 ? ... We'll definitely be back !

We were originaly going next door to the Japanese restaurant but came here instead food was excellent with excellent service, if we are ever back in Dusseldorf would come again.
